DE GROTE TAALDAG 2024: CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
De Grote Taaldag is een gezamenlijk initiatief van de Algemene Vereniging voor Taalwetenschap (AVT), Anéla (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Toegepaste Taalwetenschap) en de Landelijke Onderzoekschool Taalkunde (LOT). Traditiegetrouw is dit een dag waarop we alle collega's in Nederland en Vlaanderen weer even kunnen zien en spreken, en waarop we elkaar op de hoogte brengen van actueel onderzoek in de (toegepaste) taalkunde.
De volgende Grote Taaldag vindt plaats op vrijdag 2 februari 2024 aan de Universiteit Utrecht (Drift 21 en 25). We organiseren een zeer gevarieerd programma met lezingen, koffiemomentjes, het jaarlijkse Taalgala, en een inspirerende keynote-duopresentatie met als thema 'meertaligheid in het onderwijs'. Zoals gebruikelijk worden op het einde van de dag, tijdens het Taalgala, ook de AVT/Anéla-dissertatieprijs en de LOT-populariseringsprijs uitgereikt. Dit jaar brengen we bovendien de winnaars van de LOT-Grote Vragenprijs onder de aandacht en lanceren we feestelijk Nota Bene, het nieuwe tijdschrift van de AVT en de BKL (Belgische Kring voor Linguïstiek).
ABSTRACT INDIENEN VOOR EEN LEZING
Als u AVT- of Anéla-lid bent (of wil worden) en op de Grote Taaldag 2024 graag een lezing wil geven, kunt u tot en met vrijdag 8 december 2023 een samenvatting van maximaal 170 woorden (exclusief referenties) indienen via de website van de AVT.
- Als u van plan of bereid bent uw lezing in het Engels te houden, kunt u dat aangeven met een Engelse titel en samenvatting in plaats van een Nederlandse.
- U mag maximaal 2 samenvattingen indienen (1 als eerste auteur, 1 als co-auteur).
Als de ontvangst van uw samenvatting niet online bevestigd wordt, neemt u best contact op met Jenneke van der Wal (g.j.van.der.wal@hum.leidenuniv.nl).
Het programmaboekje (inclusief samenvattingen) zal in januari op de website van de AVT verschijnen en per e-mail verstuurd worden aan alle (op dat moment) geregistreerde deelnemers en alle AVT- en Anéla-leden.
PUBLICATIES
AVT-leden kunnen na de Grote Taaldag een schriftelijke versie van hun lezing indienen voor Nota Bene, een gloednieuw internationaal en peer-reviewed tijdschrift uitgegeven door John Benjamins. Nota Bene heeft een kort publicatietraject: de publicatie verschijnt niet langer dan een half jaar na afronding van de reviewprocedure. Een voordeel is dat iedere publicatie twee jaar na verschijning 'open access' toegankelijk is via de website van John Benjamins.
Anéla-leden kunnen een geschreven versie van hun lezing indienen voor The Dutch Journal of Applied Linguistics (DuJAL, volledig open access).

THE DUTCH ANNUAL LINGUISTICS DAY: CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The Dutch Annual Linguistics Day is a joint initiative of the Dutch Linguistic Society (AVT), the Dutch Society for Applied Linguistics (Anéla) and the Netherlands Graduate School of Linguistics (LOT). Traditionally, the Dutch Annual Linguistics Day is a day during which we meet up with all our colleagues from the Netherlands and Flanders and inform each other about current research in (applied) linguistics.
The next Dutch Annual Linguistics Day will be held on Friday 2 February 2024 at Utrecht University (Drift 21 and Drift 25). We will organize a very varied program with lectures, coffee breaks, the Language Gala, and an inspiring keynote duo presentation about 'multilingualism in educational settings'. As usual, the AVT/Anéla dissertation prize and the LOT popularization prize will be awarded at the end of the day, during the Language Gala. This year, special attention will also be paid to the winners of the LOT Big Questions Award, as well as to Nota Bene, AVT's and BKL's (Belgian Circle for Linguistics) brand new journal.
SUBMIT ABSTRACT FOR A PRESENTATION
If you are an AVT or Anéla member and if you wish to give a presentation at the Dutch Annual Linguistics Day, you can submit an abstract of up to 170 words via the AVT website up till Friday 8 December 2023.
- If you want to present in English, you can indicate this with an English title and summary instead of a Dutch one.
- You are allowed to submit a maximum of 2 abstracts (1 as first author, 1 as co-author).
If you do not receive an online confirmation of your abstract submission, please contact Jenneke van der Wal (g.j.van.der.wal@hum.leidenuniv.nl).The program booklet (including abstracts) will appear on the AVT website in January and will be sent by e-mail to all registered participants (at that time) and to all AVT and Anéla members.
PUBLICATIONS
After the Dutch Annual Linguistics Day, AVT members can submit a written version of their presentation for Nota Bene, a brand new, international and peer-reviewed journal published by John Benjamins. Nota Bene has a short publication process: each journal issue will be published no longer than six months after completion of the review procedure. An advantage is that an issue is accessible as open access via John Benjamins' website two years after its publication.
Anéla members can submit a written version of their presentation for The Dutch Journal of Applied Linguistics (Dujal, fully open access).
